What is an Alcalde?
One of the offices we will be voting for is the Washington Alcalde. In the Spanish and Mexican system an Alcalde was the equivalent of a county judge and city mayor. He would be responsible for issuing judgements in light criminal cases, setting the agenda for the municipality, and linking the community and state governments among other duties. The two candidates on the ballot are Joshua Hadley and Hiram J Williamson we'll discover more about these men and the other offices up for grabs in the lead up to our election.
