Voter Registration Information

To vote in Texas, you must be registered.  To be eligible to register to vote in Grimes County, you must;

  • be a United States citizen,
  • be a resident of Grimes County,
  • be at least 17 years and 10 months old on the date your voter registration application is submitted, and at least 18 years of age on Election Day,
  • not be a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole), and
  • not have been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

Important note: To be eligible to vote in any election, you must be registered 30 days prior to Election Day.
