George H.W. Bush 100th Birthday Celebration

The George & Barbara Bush Foundation launched 41@100: A Celebration of George H.W. Bush to honor the 100th anniversary of George H.W. Bush’s birth. The centennial runs through December 31, 2024, and will feature a schedule of events for Bush Alumni and the community to celebrate the extraordinary life and achievements of President Bush.

Events begin Tuesday, June 11 with a 41 Alumni Reunion Panel featuring former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and a 41 Alumni Reunion Dinner featuring a concert by The Gatlin Brothers, who were friends of the Bushes. These events are for anyone who served George H.W. or Barbara Bush during their time in politics and public service.

On Wednesday, June 12, there will be an interview and book signing with Jon Meacham, a Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential biographer, for the Bush Foundation’s key supporters and 41@100 sponsors. Those groups will be invited to an invitation-only gala dinner that night in the new Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion featuring remarks by former President George W. Bush.
On Thursday, June 13, the Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion will have its grand opening. Bush 41’s grandchildren will honor their “Gampy” and do commemorative skydives. Bush 41 went skydiving every five years from the age of 75 to 90.
Funds from the event will support the Bush Foundation’s Centennial Campaign, which will fund the construction of the Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion, expand the endowed scholarship and program offerings at A&M’s Bush School of Government & Public Service and more.
