Platting:

Grimes County Commissioners Court approves plats and replats in accordance with Texas Local Government Code 232.

Plat applications require the submittal of all administratively complete documents (link below) and plats will require a signature and seal from a Licensed Surveyor or Licensed Professional Engineer prior to approval.

A plat is required when combining abstract properties if permanent structures are proposed across existing property boundaries.  Replats are required when subdividing or combining properties identified in a recorded plat.

Developments fronting County Roads will require dedication of road easements with plat approval (or plat exception approval) and setbacks of permanent structures must be measured from the ultimate right-of-way boundary identified in the Grimes County Mobility Plan and as authorized by Texas Local Government Code 110.

Exceptions to platting may apply.  Exceptions to platting must be approved by Grimes County (link to form below).  See Infrastructure Regulations Section IX (page 15) for specific exceptions.  Although a plat may not be required, developments on properties that qualify for an approved exception must meet all other platting and permitting requirements of the Infrastructure Regulations.

Replats of previously platted property require posting in the Navasota Examiner for 30 days prior to Commissioners Court approval.  Grimes County will post the required notice after submittal of an administratively complete replat application.
